Never run out of disk mid-download again
The guardian estimates download size from tool manifests, checks free disk, and offers to clean up before you crash. Works for ollama, huggingface, docker, pip, npm, cargo.
The #1 Ollama complaint
Ollama does not check disk space before pull. Partial downloads become orphaned blobs. aiclean guard fixes this at the source.
Zero friction
Guard wraps the tools you already use via shim scripts. ollama pull, hf download, docker pull — exact same commands, safer.
Cleans its own mess
If a download fails or you Ctrl-C, guard detects the orphan on the next run and offers to reclaim it. No more mystery GBs.
How it works
- 1
aiclean guard --install
Generates shim scripts for ollama, huggingface-cli, docker, pip, npm, cargo, uv into ~/.aiclean/shims/.
- 2
Prepend the shim dir to PATH
Add one line to ~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc. Your shell now routes those commands through aiclean first.
- 3
Transparent pass-through
On small downloads, you never notice the shim. It exec()s the real binary with zero ceremony.
- 4
Intervention only when needed
When an estimate shows you will run out of disk, guard offers to clean first. You choose.
